At the East Anglia Pass, we’re passionate about getting kids outdoors and reconnecting with nature. So we’re delighted to offer our members a great deal from the RSPB, guaranteed to tear your little ones away from their iPads and open their eyes to the natural world.
Children today have less contact than ever with the natural world. In fact, Nature Deficit Disorder is a recognised phenomenon among the younger generation with recent statistics showing that three-quarters of UK children spend less time outside than prison inmates and that today’s generation are more likely to be able to identify a dalek than an owl!
It’s a subject we’re passionate about at the East Anglia Pass so we’re thrilled that one of the country’s leading conservation charity, the RSPB, is offering all our passholders a free backpack hire (saving up to £3) when visiting different reserves. From heathland and woodland to reservoirs and coastal marshes, these beautiful and often vulnerable wild places are rich in wildlife and provide the perfect surroundings for your children to have fun while learning about the natural world, from pond-dipping and den-building to bug hunts and bat walks.
There are events on most days as well as throughout the school holidays including lots of crafty makes for Easter – great for keeping the kids busy even when it’s wet outside! It's also a great opportunity for mums, dads and grandparents to make new friends too. Check out the events listing on our app for a selection of events or visit their website for a complete list and to find out what’s on at your nearest centre.
